Avoiding Predatory Garage Door Companies

Who did you say you were?

A predatory practice we have been encountering recently is other companies impersonating ours. When we arrive at a client's house, we find a technician from another company posing as Ace Garage Doors. This puts the homeowner in the awkward position of trying to guess who they have an appointment with, and who will do the best work at the suggested price.

There are ways to know if you have called a company posing as another.

If they answer the phone without saying a business name, then ask you for your address before giving you any information, they are likely sending a tech to your home who will impersonate whoever you have actually hired.

We don't discourage our customers from shopping around, because we are certain our prices are the best for the quality of work we do and the parts we use. We have a very high standard of care for our customers, and do not sell parts or services a customer does not need, a common practice of less reputable companies. We are also licensed, bonded and insured, and have an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau.

Companies who pose as us are less experienced, less qualified, sometimes unlicensed, and absolutely less honest and reliable. If one of these imposters does something improperly, with no proof of payment or service, you are left without recourse.

Unfortunately, there is not much we can do to combat this.

No legal recourse is available, and these companies have no standard of fair business practices. We aren't the only company dealing with this, and other reputable companies who you might have appointments with could also be misrepresented. We are all doing what we can to make sure our customers are getting the honest and fair service they deserve.

To verify you are working with a licensed, capable garage door professional from Ace Garage Doors, we will send you a text message with our picture, and a picture of our vehicle. We will also be able to provide you with our business card when we arrive.

Thank you for helping us in our battle for fair business practices.
